Jara Jacobson

Care Coordinator & Marketing Intern

Jara Jacobson

Jara Jacobson is our Care Coordinator and Marketing Intern here at Georgia Family Therapy. Her responsibilities include responding to client phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments, assisting with insurance-related tasks, and supporting outreach to school counselors and pediatricians, all while maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards. In terms of marketing, she is responsible for writing frequent blogs and social media posts relating to therapy topics, all helping to connect clients with mental health resources and increase awareness of the clinic’s services.

She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Emory University, as well as a minor in Economics. Her interests mainly center around clinical psychology and industrial-organizational psychology, and she plans to pursue a career in either one of these fields in the future. Working at Georgia Family Therapy allows her to engage in both of her key interests: care coordination and shadowing therapists lets her explore clinical psychology, while marketing tasks allow her to engage in I/O psychology.

At Emory, she participates in the Caring Chords club, which organizes musical concerts for the Holbrook Decatur retirement community. In this organization, Jara is able to engage in a hobby of hers—playing the piano and singing—as well as cement her interest in helping others through psychology, as the club was inspired by the psychological research that music improves symptoms of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
