Group Therapy

Healing and Growth Through Connection

ARE YOU SEEKING HEALING, CONNECTION, AND SUPPORT THROUGH COMMUNITY?

Sometimes, the most powerful healing happens in community. Group therapy offers a supportive space to connect with others who share similar challenges and goals—whether you’re a parent navigating stress, a child learning social skills, or a teen building confidence and friendships.

At Georgia Family Therapy, our groups are small, confidential, and led by experienced therapists who create a safe, welcoming environment for reflection, learning, and growth.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

It can be challenging to support your child, teen, or family when social or emotional struggles arise. You may notice:

Teen need for engaging support

Some teens thrive in structured, interest-based settings. A therapist-led Dungeons & Dragons group provides a creative, supportive way to practice communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and emotional regulation while forming authentic friendships.

Family conflict or stress

Parenting may feel exhausting or tense, with frequent conflicts, difficulty setting limits, or uncertainty about how to respond calmly and effectively.

Adolescent challenges

Teens may feel disconnected, unsure of themselves, or struggle with communication, teamwork, or emotional regulation.

Social anxiety or shyness

Children may avoid playdates or group activities, feel overwhelmed around peers, or have trouble joining in, even when they want connection

Difficulty making friends

Some children struggle to start conversations, take turns, manage big feelings, or read social cues, which can affect their confidence at school or in group settings.

How Group Therapy Helps?

Group therapy combines the benefits of professional guidance with the encouragement of shared experience. Participants often find comfort in realizing they’re not alone—and gain fresh perspectives, coping tools, and emotional support.

Our groups help participants:

Develop self-awareness and emotional regulation

Learn new coping strategies and parenting tools

Practice communication and relationship skills

Gain confidence in social and family interactions

Build connection and reduce isolation
